The Mariposa Project is designed specifically for the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of children living and the staff working in a residential facility. The aptitudes taught and the programs designed in the Mariposa Project offer building life skill development necessary for becoming a healthy and productive adult in Mexico.

PROJECT SCOPE

The geographical area of focus is in the State of Jalisco, Chapala Region of Mexico. The recommendations and programs designed will be specific to the needs of the contracting site.

GOALS OF THE PROJECT

The primary goals of the project are:

1) to develop a child's sense of belonging within the facility they live.

2) to provide opportunities for the child to connect with their community.

3) for each program design to have the ability to be maintained and sustained after the date of separation (DOS) of the Intern.
